Stage 1: The Fed State (0 – 4 Hours)
Your body is actively digesting and absorbing nutrients from your last meal. Blood glucose levels are elevated, and the pancreas secretes insulin to transport this glucose into your cells for energy. Any excess energy is stored in the liver and muscles as glycogen, and the rest is converted to triglycerides (fat).
Stage 2: The Early Fasting State (4 – 16 Hours)
